What SEO Setup Should A New Business Website Include?
A plain-English checklist for SEO-conscious website structure, covering titles, headings, internal links, sitemap, canonical setup, and local copy.
SEO setup is not a magic ranking button. For a new business website, it means the structure is clear enough for people and search engines to understand: what the business does, where it works, what each page is about, and how the pages connect.
Start with page purpose
Every important page should have one job. The title, heading, copy, and call to action should all support that job.
Use technical basics correctly
A new site should include clean metadata, crawlable links, sitemap output, robots settings, canonical URLs, and share previews.
- Page titles and descriptions
- Sitemap and robots
- Canonical URLs
- Open Graph previews
- Structured data where it fits
Write local copy naturally
If a business works in Vienna, the page should say that where it helps the visitor. Repeating location keywords in every heading makes the page worse.
Avoid fake promises
SEO-conscious structure can improve clarity and indexing. It should not be sold as guaranteed rankings, guaranteed traffic, or instant growth.
Quick checklist
- One clear H1 per page.
- Descriptive page titles and descriptions.
- Internal links to related service and proof pages.
- Sitemap includes important public pages.
- Structured data matches visible content.
- No keyword stuffing.
